RECONNAISSANCE WITHOUT EXPOSURE

In a chemical incident, the most dangerous job belongs to whoever identifies the threat. Before a perimeter can be set, before a treatment decision can be made, before anyone knows what protective equipment is adequate, someone has to approach the source and find out what's there.

That person is walking toward an unknown substance at an unknown concentration, wearing protection selected for a threat nobody has confirmed yet.

Every part of the response depends on information that can only be obtained by putting a person at risk to get it.

THE APPROACH

This partnership removes that requirement. ARDPI Air & Security develops the KOBRA unmanned aerial platform and the KAPTREK wearable tactical monitor. Integrated with PROENGIN's AP4C+ detector, they turn chemical reconnaissance into something a machine does first.

How it works:

1. Detect at the source The AP4C+ mounted on the KOBRA platform identifies chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals in real time, using flame spectrometry, at the point of release rather than at the perimeter.

2. Map in three dimensions The drone conducts volumetric reconnaissance of the affected area, distinguishing contaminated airspace from clean airspace with precision. Contamination is not a flat shape on a map — it has height, drift, and structure, and a ground sensor cannot see any of it.

3. Transmit instantly and securely Data moves to the command and control center as it is gathered, so decisions are made on a current picture rather than a reconstructed one.

4. Put it on the operator KAPTREK, worn on the forearm, delivers that same live threat information directly to first responders, military units, and special operations teams in the field. Chemical threat data that used to stay in the command center now reaches the person walking toward the hazard.
